Sharon I Link, Ph.D

Dr. Sharon Link is the founder of Link Autism Leadership. She is an Associate Professor for Touro College in Midtown Manhattan and works with the Lander Center for Educational Research. Dr. Link teaches special education related courses. For over 15 years, Dr. Sharon Link has served as an educator and curriculum developer having developed programs for the struggling learner, and working as an instructional designer developing various types of training programs for Fortune 500 companies including American Express, Celgene Pharmaceutical, Weight Watchers, and top tier universities including Columbia University of New York City, Touro College (NYC), Brandman University (Irvine, CA), and Gonzaga University (Spokane, WA). Dr. Link also spent two years mentoring teachers in different areas of the country as a consultant for the National Urban Alliance for Effective Education.

Dr. Link has presented extensively in the areas of autism spectrum disorders, leadership, and instructional design to national and international audiences. To better prepare teachers to work with autistic students, Dr. Link developed a four course (12 semester credit) certificate program in collaboration with Brandman University called Effective Strategies for the Autistic Student. Dr. Link is currently working on her third certificate program for Brandman University and is also currently in the process of developing an array of other curricula to assist parents, teachers, and employers struggling with autism. These courses will soon be available through the Link Autism Leadership website. The Abyss of Autism course is currently available as a DVD course.

Dr. Link received her doctoral degree in Leadership Studies from Gonzaga University. She completed two internships during her training including one as a School Principal and another as a Human Resources professional. Dr. Link is a certified teacher and school administrator in Washington State. Her graduate coursework included writing a book called Asperger Syndrome and Maternal Experiences: An Exploration of Mothers Raising Children with Asperger Syndrome published by VDM Verlag. Additionally, Dr. Link wrote 29 published articles on educational and sociological related topics including in the realm of autism spectrum disorders and the educational experience for Ebsco Publishing. Her biggest writing accomplishment to date was writing a chapter on Inferential Statistics for a graduate level textbook for Agate Publishing. Dr. Link’s latest work was co-authoring a book with her own 16-year-old autistic son called The Abyss of Autism.

Dr. Link currently resides near New York City and is developing Link Autism Leadership’s outreach and impact.
